WHO WE ARE
The Shepherd’s Tavern is a Board-directed Christian nonprofit retreat ministry providing pastors, missionaries, ministry leaders, and their families a place to step away from the demands of ministry and experience rest, renewal, hospitality, and time in God’s presence.
A place to rest. A place to breathe. A place to simply be.
WHY WE EXIST
Ministry leaders spend much of their lives caring for others. They lead, teach, counsel, encourage, carry burdens, and remain available to the people they serve.
The Shepherd’s Tavern exists to give them a place where they can step out of those roles for a while and simply receive rest themselves.
Here, there is no congregation to lead, no lesson to prepare, no meeting to attend, and no expectation to perform.
OUR APPROACH
There are no scheduled programs, required activities, or expectations at The Shepherd’s Tavern.
Guests are free to sleep, read, pray, walk the trails, spend time with family, sit quietly on the porch, or simply do nothing for a while.
Rest is not something you have to earn here.
Spiritual direction is available by request for guests who would find it helpful.
Come as you are, lay down what you carry, and rest in God’s Presence. No striving. No pretense. Just come
THE PLACE
The Shepherd’s Tavern is set on a peaceful rural property with private lodging, wooded trails, open spaces, front porches and room to breathe.
Each cottage is designed to offer privacy, comfort, and a simple place to step away from the demands of everyday life and ministry.
The Barn Commons will expand that hospitality in the future by providing additional shared space for gathering, reflection, and renewal.
